Investigation of the effects of feeding places for hunting purposes on natural habitats
The effects of wild game feeding have already been widely investigated, but mostly the effects of supplementary winter feeding and mainly changes in animal populations have been researched, vegetation has received little attention so far. In our country, feeding grounds for hunting, the so-called bait sites are the most common, which nowadays cause an increasing nature conservation problem. The effects of weed seeds introduced with contaminated forage, increased hiking, trampling, the addition of nutrients, human and animal seed dispersal make these places the spread points of weeds and invasive species, which together with the negative processes of climate change pose a significant threat to protected areas. The aim of the research is to investigate the effects of these hunting facilities on natural habitats, as well as the role of bait sites in local and landscape changes and in invasion processes.
