Introduction:
In 2004, the Senate of Szent István University established the Institute for Wildlife Conservation, which operated under this name until 2020. Since 2021, the "School of Gödöllő" has once again been known as the Department of Wildlife Biology and Management, and has been located in the same place for 45 years...
Following the accreditation of the wildlife engineer course (2002), the first final examinations for wildlife managers in Gödöllő were held in 2006. With the introduction of the Bologna programme, the training of wildlife engineers was also transformed: the Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences of the University of Szeged (SZIE) accredited both the bachelor and master degree courses in wildlife engineering. Since 2008, the training of wildlife engineers has been offered both full-time and part-time (MSc in Csíkszereda), in Hungarian and English. Interested students can apply for doctoral theses announced by the Wildlife Biotechnology and Wildlife Management Theme Group of the MATE Doctoral School of Animal Biotechnology and Animal Sciences. Since 1995, dozens of PhD students have obtained their PhD degrees.
